Advanced computing resources are an essential component of modern research. Many PSU researchers require these resources, but have limited access to adequate computing environments or maintain their own smaller systems. Substantial computing environments require focused commitment to provide operational, maintenance and support services. Most researchers do not have the resources nor the time to dedicate to these support functions.
Our goals for advanced research computing support are:
- Provide access to a dedicated research computing environment for researchers.
- Provide high-end computing resources for researchers.
- Provide dedicated web and database services for researchers.
- Free researchers from routine computer maintenance and operations tasks and minimize the proliferation of independently maintained, redundant systems across campus.
- Provide technical support for researchers that meets their needs.
- Develop partnerships with PSU researchers for development of shared resources that maximize available computing power while also providing access.
